Five Paper Management Tips for Christians
Dealing with the paperwork in our lives, freeing up time for the Holy Spirit.My favorite scripture is Roman's 8:28. "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose." Here are some simple rules for managing the paper documents that arrive daily into your life.
2. Clutter is Postponed Decisions® - There are only three decisions you can make regarding any piece of paper. Think FAT: File, Act or Toss?! 3. The Art of Wastebasketry® - What's the worst thing that can happen if you don't have a particular piece of paper? If you can live with with that "worst case scenario" answer, then toss or better yet, recycle that paper! (If the back of the page is blank, use it for phone messages...) 4. Start Over! - If you have a filing system that isn't working, just start over again. 5. Forget The Alphabet! - Make filing significant and less labor-intensive (who enjoys making file labels, anyway?). Convert to a numerical system for keeping track of documents. This is especially useful on your computer. Adding the date is another useful tip as well. Take advantage of your computer's search engine. A New Beginning Sometimes showing up for life can seem like a major achievement. And within that 'showing up' we're showing tremendous courage. We're not giving up. We're forcing our way back - searching for meaning, trying to find a new direction? a reason to go on. God - A Thousand Words Wasted Who is God? This question would sound awkward to 80% of us. Moreover, this question would infuriate all of this 80%. I though, do not have any intentions to hurt or disrespect their sentiments. I thought when God came into my life things would get better, but they haven't." It doesn't matter if you're a new Christian or have been a Christian for a number of years, these feelings can creep in and set you up for confusion and frustration. When Do You Pray? When we were in spirit, we had the same discussion you know and I told you, "Hopefully you will remember me when I approach you on this plane." However, I now realize that I had forgotten to mention how I would approach you. Resisting Temptation - The JESUS Way One thing that Jesus was NOT - was flashy. When He cured someone, it was with a touch. When He spoke, the crowds came to Him. And when He resisted the Devil - it was through the simple mechanisms of fasting, prayer, and Scripture. These are things each of us can do daily or weekly, which fits completely with Jesus's advice to not put on a public display. Your life - your resistance to temptation - will be all the display you need. God! God !
