Easter Clipart

When Easter time comes around it shouldn't be difficult to find Easter clipart to decorate your baskets, arrangements, and even your dinner table. With all of the free resources out there there's no reason to pay.

Easter clipart is one type of general clip art which is any of a set of images used to illustrate various mediums, such as print. There was a time when clipart was only available to professionals, but now with computers so prevalent everyone can use it. In the old days clip art was literally cutting images from one printed piece to use in another. The process through which clipart was added to a new project was called paste up – images were literally pasted onto a board. But paste up disappeared for the most part in the early 1990s.

Early clipart on PCs wasn't used for Easter clipart, instead it was used for business presentations. In fact the first clip art library available on the PC was published along with a business application in 1983. It was Apple that first made clip art viable for consumers with their LaserWriter laser printer as well as their graphical user interface in 1984 and 1985.

A company called the T/Maker company published black-and-white retail clip art collections in 1984. These were published under the brand-name ClickArt, and became the industry standard until the early 1990s. In those days these clipart collections might contain only 200 or so images. But starting in the mid-1990s volume clip art became the thing. At that time collections expanded to over 500,000 copyright free images.

Around the time that these clipart collections began to grow companies like Microsoft began including clipart collections with their wordprocessing programs. Some of these might have even been Easter clipart. In early 2000s as the Internet became more and more prevalent, these collections went online. Today people can search for millions of pieces of clipart using tools like Google to find clipart for every occasion – including Easter clipart.

Where are some of the places that Easter clipart can be found? As with almost anything on the Internet today, the best place to start is Google in their image search. Such a search results in over 230,000 hits including Easter eggs, rabbits, and even images from the religious aspect of the holiday. Anyone who's looking for Easter clipart won't be disappointed with this search.

Clip art, including Easter clipart, has come along way as computers and the Internet have matured.
