Eckankar - Finding the Light and Sound of God
"Life is a mystery until we come to the path of ECK (Divine Spirit) and begin to understand that we can be the creators of our own world." - Harold Klemp, Language of Soul
Eckankar is a unique religious and spiritual path,
sometimes called the Religion of the Light and Sound of God. Its name can be
translated into "co-worker with God".
Following the spiritual path of Eckankar one
can learns the Ancient Science of Soul Travel through spiritual exercises.
The goal is to align oneself with the Light and Sound of God, to
eventually become a co-worker with God, becoming one with each moment of the
Universe. Note that Soul Travel might also be described
as the movement of consciousness from one state to another which can be
experiened while one is sleeping or awake.
ECKANKAR is a practical path. Its teachings help
Soul assume a 360-degree viewpoint, enabling one to see the totality of
life.
A goal of Eckists is to work off karma and
achieve Self-Realization in this or the next lifetime. "The aim and
purpose of Eckankar has always been to take Soul by Its own path back to
its divine source."
Spiritual unfoldment can be accelerated through
conscious contact with the ECK, Divine Spirit. This contact can be made via the
Spiritual Exercises of ECK
and through the guidance of the Living ECK Master, currently Sri Harold Klemp.
A friend and guide, the Living ECK Master's spiritual purpose is to link
Soul to the Light and Sound of God.
Membership in Eckankar is based on a suggested
donation: members receive discourses they are invited to study alone or in
the company of other members in Eckankar called Satsang classes. Eckankar
does not attempt to convert individuals, knowing that you have to make the
choice.
